Wychall Primary School

Safe, Secure and Successful

Reception have immersed themselves into the new topic 'Once Upon a Time'. We went to see 'We're Going On a Bear Hunt' during the first week and have enjoyed recreating that experience within the classroom.

We are working through a series of traditional tales, looking at characters, story sequencing and writing all about them.

We have been getting creative with this topic; including learning all about different materials and which ones are best to build with- even using sugar cubes!

We are very excited to showcase our learning during our assembly on Wednesday 12th February!

Reception have settled really well into their first half term of school. Children have been learning lots of new things during our Phonics, Literacy and Maths lessons and have continued with exciting learning opportunities through our topic 'My Family and I'. They enjoyed having their grown-ups in for the Phonics Workshop on Friday 11th October, finding out about how we teach phonics and how to help at home as well as practising for the Harvest assembly for the final week of the half term.
