Mrs J Barrow - Assistant Headteacher Wychall & Jervoise with responsibility for Inclusion
Wychall Primary School is committed to providing the best possible opportunities for every child. We work together, enabling everyone to do their best.
We have high expectations for disabled pupils and expect them to participate and achieve in every aspect of school life.
Effective liaison with parents and outside agencies ensures that most children with disabilities are known through pre-school provision. We benefit from having a Pastoral Team who works closely with the Head Teacher and SENDCo ensuring that early identification of needs enables effective planning to include children with disabilities right from the start.
All staff are aware of the needs of SEN and disabled pupils in the school.
Progress and attainment of individual children is tracked carefully. Our staff are committed to undertake training to support the needs of individual pupils. A full range of training is given to meet the medical needs of our children in school.
All children are included in every aspect of school life, both in the curriculum and activities beyond.
Our priorities for the coming year are to continue to address the needs of future pupils as the school grows and analyse progress and achievement for disabled pupils to ensure that good progress continues to be made.
The school works closely with parents of individual disabled pupils and takes account of their views and aspirations. We listen carefully to the views, ideas and concerns expressed by pupils and take action as appropriate.
If you are the parent of a child with additional needs or disabilities and would like an informal chat, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Barrow on 0121 464 4255.
